Event Name: Finding the Feelings in Stress, Anxiety, and Depression
Description: These presentations by Dr. Tataryn will emphasize the often over-looked role of emotions and feelings in the most common mental health challenges facing people today. Dr. Tataryn's experience is that once people begin to acknowledge and express their feelings and emotions in healthy ways, their levels of stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic anger all go down while their quality of life and relationships go up. So what is the difference between emotions and feelings? When and why is is important and healthy to cry? Why do tense and sore muscles tend to be associated with trauma and prolonged levels of stress? Come join in the new conversation about Mental Health; for you, for your family, and for your community. Dr. Tataryn received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 1991 from the University of Arizona. After working for 10 years at the University of Manitoba as a professor studying the Mind-Body relationship he moved into full-time private practice in 2001 (clinical, research, sports psychology and performance enhancement, life-coaching) to put is his full attention on developing the Bio-Emotive Framework. Dr. Tataryn is a long-time meditator (40+ years) and conducts seminars in areas such as the Bio-Emotive Integral Framework, integral theory, sports psychology, and the integration of psychology and spirituality.
