The Library means so much to folks in this community because YOU are the ones who created it.
You’ve made the Library your living room, rec room, café, event centre, office, classroom, study hall and meeting place. You’ve made it your home away from home and while it’s more than ‘just a library’, it’s still the place you can find the latest releases from your favourite authors and discover new voices and perspectives.
Thank you for understanding the importance, power and beauty of a lifelong journey with books and for wanting to ensure the next generations can have their lives enriched and expanded the same way.
The Story Continues Library Expansion is a $2.5 million project.
It will start by creating a dedicated children’s section in the newly acquired 6,000 sq ft space. This fun, whimsical, interactive area will ignite the curiosity and passion of lifelong learners and readers. Designed with children and youth in mind, there will be tons of new opportunities for young people and families to build wonderful memories together.
Our children and grandchildren will no longer have to wait to start exploring and learning.
Moving the children’s section makes room to reconfigure the rest of the Library, expand the collections and create the other spaces community’s been asking for.
The regional municipalities have contributed $1.2 million to purchase the additional space.
We invite community to invest $1.3 million to complete the project.
Please give today. You will create a legacy of learning, family memories and new stories for people in our communities for many years to come.
